Watch that Arch...
Unsurprisingly, the cart was only ready at the very last minute and took well into Friday night to finish. Here is the result... all 4 meters of it!

The ramp turns out to be somewhat larger than expected...

Throughout Saturday people couldn't believe we were going to get the tower down the ramp in one piece. We were never worried! *ahem*
My other car may be the Statue of Liberty... but the Eiffel Tower runs just fine!
The TV crew had asked us to reduce the height of the tower to stop us removing their camera gantry. Unfortunately, the Red Bull people didn't mention the finishing arch... specifically, its height. Oooops!
The Time Trial aftermath
Two 'rosbifs', a tool box, and some aluminium has the same effect on a tower as a packet of Viagra! The cart was ready for inspection on Race day by the legendary Murray 'I sound like my pants are on fire' Walker!

The ramp really was that big!
Ben avoids the washing!
Fast cart? Nope. Crowd (and Murray) pleaser? Yup!
7th place after round one!
Monsieur Eiffel, perhaps not having the greatest grasp of aerodynamics, never considered the effects of a strong headwind on his tower's racing performance. End result :- Fred Flintstone power!

Well, we made it into the top 20, and got a second round place. Knowing that we weren't fast enough to make the final, we had to go out in style. A few quick repairs, and washing here we come!
'Av it!!
They think it's all over... it is now!
Job done. The driver leaves.
Many thanks to all those that turned up to support us - the reception was fantastic. Thanks also to the other teams for their great carts and great attitude, and to Murray Walker for going bonkers for our tower!
